Be supportive and encouraging to your child. Ensuring that your child attend games and practices on time. Supply proper equipment. Ensure player equipment properly fitted e.g. soccer shoes snugly tied Pay fees where applicable. Provide refreshments. Support league rules and regulations. Attend meetings and assist with events i.e. fund-raising, banquet, summer festival Be supportive of coaches decisions. Coaches' responsibilities: Treat other coaches, officials, all players, and parents with respect. Make sure that all players are picked up by a parent or they can get home on their own before leaving the park Arrive 15 min. before each game or practice Encourage fair play at all times. Be consistent. Attend all training session and meetings. Attend skill development clinics. Be supportive and encouraging to all players. Notify parents and players of games, practices and cancellations. Notify Parks and Recreation if you are unable to attend games or practices 416-392-6696. Notify Park Monitor of any park injuries or emergencies Ensure that equipment and facility is safe. Encourage fun, fitness and fundamentals in practices and games. Provide players with opportunities to play in different positions. Ensure that all participants are registers with parks and recreation. Organize your practice Provide pre-game warm up and skill session for your team. Communicate with all levels of the league, Parks and Recreation, association, parents and players. Ensure players are dress in proper game attire i.e. Soccer shoes, running shoes, shin guards, gloves, hats. Ensure players are wearing proper protective equipment i.e. chest protector, catchers mask. Meet with team before and after each game. Be a good role model. Recruit assistant coach if needed. Parks and Recreation responsibilities: Provide support and resources until the Association is fully independent 1. League administration, including Registration, Scheduling, Provide referees and umpires for league Provide equipment and storage Groom and maintain park / facilities Provide park notice board Provide portable toilets 2. Provide training for staff and volunteer i.e. 4 point training First Aid and CPR Coaches' development Park Monitor responsibilities: Overall monitoring of proper and safe use of all park facilities Point of contact for any park injuries or emergencies Collects game results per scoring guidelines | |
